Welcome to the Hawaii Quilt Guild!

Hawaii Quilt Guild Show 2009

President's Welcome

Susan Haushalter, HQG Mahalo for visiting our website! With a membership of over 200, encompassing quilters from around the U.S., Canada, Japan, Australia and Europe, the Hawaii Quilt Guild celebrates the diversity of our quilting styles and the great sense of community we share through the art of quilting.

Beginning with our 28 February meeting, we will have a new location! We have been averaging 105 members attending our meetings, so we have outgrown Central Union Church. I know the new location will be great and provides lots of room for our Guild to grow even bigger. The new location is more centralized for everyone and easy to access from everywhere on the island. Honpa Hongwanji is located at 1727 Pali Highway. We will meet in the Social Hall. Whether you are a new resident of Oahu, or just visiting, please plan to stop in at one of our meetings and enjoy the evening with us!

Quilt Hawaii Resource List

New to the Islands or planning a trip? Have we got a tool for you!
We’ve have bunches of requests from quilters for a list of various quilting-related resources and have started compiling one that we hope will be useful for both local and visiting quilters! This is definitely a work in progress, so if you know of any others, please contact our webmaster! (Note: This resource listing does not include web-based businesses.) Click here to access the Quilt Hawaii Resource List.

Aloha Mai... Welcome.

Membership meetings are held at the Honpa Hongwanji Social Hall located at 1727 Pali Highway on the fourth (not always the last) Monday of the month. Our library opens at 6:00 p.m. and the meeting begins at 6:30 p.m.

Exceptions: If a federal holiday falls on the 4th Monday of any particular month, the General Meeting will normally take place on the 3rd Monday for that month. The June potluck meeting is for the installation of new officers, and the December meeting is our annual holiday party. Locations and dates of these are announced in the newsletter and at the guild meeting preceding the event.
