President's Welcome

Mahalo for visiting our website! With a membership of over 200, encompassing quilters from around the U.S., Canada, Japan, Australia and Europe, the Hawaii Quilt Guild celebrates the diversity of our quilting styles and the great sense of community we share through the art of quilting. New or experienced, hand or machine quilter, artisan or beginner come join us.

I have enjoyed every minute of being the Guilds President. We are continuing to grow and our current location for the meetings will accommodate even more growth. Whether you are a new or long time resident of Oahu, or just visiting, please plan to stop in at one of our meetings and enjoy the evening with us! Please check out all the activities we are involved in and find a place for you. Making new friends and finding quilters that will make life time friends is wonderful.

We’ve have bunches of requests from quilters for a list of various quilting-related resources and have started compiling one that we hope will be useful for both local and visiting quilters! Membership meetings are held at the Honpa Hongwanji Social Hall located at 1727 Pali Highway on the fourth (not always the last) Monday of the month. Our library opens at 6:00 p.m. and the meeting begins at 6:30 p.m.

Exceptions: The June potluck meeting is for the installation of new officers, and the December meeting is our annual holiday party. Locations and dates of these are announced in the newsletter and at the guild meeting preceding the event.
